Mike Klein
Chair (Netherlands)

As Chair, Mike oversees the activities of the EMENA Board to ensure accomplishment of the region’s mission, goals and objectives. He is also liaison for development chapters, and is the region’s representative at the international levels of the association including a seat on the IABC Council of Regions. Mike is the Principal of Changing The Terms, a communication practice focused on identifying, connecting and mobilizing informal leaders at all levels of organizations. Based in Delft in the Netherlands, Mike has worked with large global organizations on internal communication issues for nearly 20 years, including VimpelCom, Cargill, Shell, easyJet, Barclays and the United States Department of Transportation, and is a also a former political campaign consultant. He is a graduate of London Business School and the University of Wisconsin, and is passionate about tribes, travel, Tottenham Hotspur FC and is the author of "From Lincoln to Linked In, the 55 Minute Guide to Social Communication."

Alex Malouf
Past Chair (Gulf)

As Past Chair, Alex counsels the Chair and the board ensuring smooth transition and capturing gained knowledge and experience for posterity. He will oversee the election process of the 2019-20 board. Alex is a marketing communications executive who has spent the last ten years in the Middle East. With a cultural mix that is both European and Arabic, Alex’s expertise spans communications for both multinationals in the energy, technology and FMCG space as well as several Gulf-based government institutions. When he’s not putting pen to paper, Alex can be found advocating for the region’s communications industry through not-for-profit organisations, with other like-minded comms professionals. Alex has a particular interest in change and cultural communications, as well as sustainability. Alex holds the position of corporate communications manager for the Arabian Peninsula at Procter & Gamble.

Jasna Suhadolc
Key Programmes Director (Slovenia)
Jasna is owner at communications agency Virtua PR and an experienced digital communications professional. She works with Slovenian and international clients and provides consulting, training and speaking. She is a specialist in digital PR, social media, internal communications, corporate communications, content marketing, and more. Jasna is also an author of the book New opportunities in e-communication (in Slovenian) and a frequent speaker at conferences.
Gloria Walker
Professional Development Director (UK)

Gloria has been involved with IABC for many years and has held leadership positions at the chapter, region and international levels. She is a highly-experienced practitioner who combines consulting with academics. As a practitioner, she has international experience in delivering results-based communications and public affairs programmes for a range of organisations in several business sectors in the US, Europe, and Asia.  She is currently working with the British Computing Society, the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and Quo Money, a fintech start-up. As an academic, she teaches in graduate and undergraduate programmes at the London College of Communication and the Hult International Business School. She is also an active member of several professional associations and is serving her third term on UK’s PRCA Council.  Gloria holds degrees in public relations and journalism from West Virginia University (BS) and The University of Texas at Austin (MA) and has completed post-graduate work at the London School of Economics. 

Emma Hanley

Emma has been the Customer Success and Communication Specialist at Poppulo for the last four years. She is passionate about good communication and works in the Internal Communication and Employee Engagement space, helping, creating and sharing insight and best practice through various channels including webinars, global events and content. Poppulo is the global leader in employee communications software and advisory services, partnering with many of the world's most successful corporations, such as Nestlé, LinkedIn, Rolls-Royce and Experian.

Maysoun Ramadan

Maysoun is Head of Communications & Public Affairs for Roche Diagnostics Middle East (RDME). A passionate champion of women empowerment, workplace gender equality and STEM education among young female Arabs. In her role as a communications expert, she leads the business communications and corporate outreach of Roche Diagnostics across 16 regional markets in addition to driving internal communications and employee engagement for over 450 team members. With her focus on telling compelling stories with a human element, Maysoun’s approach has also helped set new benchmarks in Healthcare Communications in the region by making it jargon-free and deeply engaging to promote tangible action and outcomes. Maysoun is committed to driving innovation in communications, especially by leveraging digital and e-commerce platforms. Her passion for the job and the impactful results she has achieved has earned her recognition as one of the Innovator 25 in Europe, Middle East and Africa by The Holmes Report in 2017. 

Vija Valentukonyte
Membership Director (MAL - Lithuania)

Vija Valentukonyte is Acting Head of Corporate Communications at Telia Lietuva, the leading telco, IT and TV provider in Lithuania. She has eight years of Communications experience in a variety of sectors and companies, such as Barclays, Lithuanian Power Co, MTV and ING Bank. Vija is passionate about change communications, as well as cultural transformation of organizations. She is also a certified trainer helping others to be better communicators. Her work has been recognized by the Institute of Internal Communications (“30 under 30” awards 2012) and more recently with two IABC Gold Quill awards 2017 for the merger/change programs in Telia, a PR Impact award and the best HR practice award in Lithuania. She also received the Speaker of the Year 2017 award from the Lithuania HR Association. 

Alba Perez Grandi

Alba is a passionate communications executive with six years of experience working across different industry sectors for corporations, European Institutions/ associations and agencies. Her core strengths lie in corporate communications, PR, digital marketing, public affairs and organising high-level events. As an Account Manager at the European Business Summit, she works with European clients, mainly within the Energy sector such Statoil, Iberdrola, and SUEZ. She also focuses on ICT corporations/digital start-ups, carries out lobbying activities and organises high-level events that bring business leaders and decision makers together. A digital addict, Alba volunteers for TEDxWoman Antwerpen social media team. Driven to impact society and create positive change by listening and connecting people together, she is looking to expand her training, speaking and coaching capacities.
Dani Buijtenhek

Dani Buijtenhek, made in Germany, is a Netherlands-based and globally active, seasoned communication and presentation professional, with over 20 years of experience with some of the world’s leading brands like Adidas, Roche, Danone, DSM, Teva Pharmaceuticals, TNT and FedEx. Dani is the owner and founder of danibu -  an internationally-operating communication consulting, training and public speaking agency - with a twist of Argentine Tango, that gets clients and audiences alike moving perfectly in step.

Willem is Executive Director at VMAGROUP where he started as Head of Europe in 2012. It was his passion for the (marketing) communications profession that motivated him to join VMAGROUP after having lead a Dutch recruitment company for 4 years. In earlier years he developed his career from marketing research to marketing and communications management to general management positions in the FMCG sector, and he also worked as a business consultant for a couple of years. He is a day to day witness of exciting developments in the communications profession. A recently published study by VMAGROUP, "Beyond Communications. A CEO perspective of reputation leadership", clearly underlines the growing impact of the (marketing) communications function.
