EME event planned for Bucharest

The first regional event will be held on 23 September 2009 in Bucharest, Romania.  Local members are organising a networking session for current and prospective members, all key communicators in their respective organizations or lines of business.

“We have five members in Romania currently but plan to increase this number to at least 20 by the year’s end,” commented Stefan Liute, a member-at-large in Bucharest.  “We will be using this first stage person-to-person communication event plus some social media to attract first-tier pros to our association.  Eastern Europe’s presence in IABC is increasingly strong, with communication professionals from this part of the world winning several Gold Quills in recent years.”

“I am looking forward to participating in this event,” said Gloria Walker, ABC, EME Regional Chair.  “Meeting with communicators in Romania is the first in a number of events around the region this year.  Taking IABC on tour enables us to discuss local communications practices and challenges, share views and experiences and increase awareness about IABC across our highly diverse region.”
