HootSuite recently announced that it has passed the one-million-user mark. The social media dashboard, which allows users to connect to multiple social networks from one website, was launched in late 2008 by Ryan Holmes’ Invoke Media and claims among its users the US White House, Martha Stewart Media, and online shoe retailer Zappos.
HootSuite is designed to help organisations identify their publics, launch media campaigns, react quickly to changing events, and spread their messages simultaneously through Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, WordPress and other networks.
Although the Vancouver Canada-based company’s main users are in North America and Japan, Hootsuite does have a presence in Europe, particularly the UK, Spain and Germany.
In addition to the customer landmark, Hootsuite also announced the release of mobile applications for iPhone, Android, iPad and BlackBerry, a partnership with Twitter to be the first to syndicate Promoted Tweets, as well as localized web and mobile apps for other languages starting with Japanese.
