Chime Ventures launched to support communications entrepreneurs

Chime Communications announced the launch of a dedicated unit for entrepreneurs with new business ideas in the world of communications.

The new unit, Chime Ventures, hopes to attract entrepreneurs who have either already set up a small business or who have ideas in development.

Chime Ventures is headed by Ian Priest, one of the founders of ad agency VCCP, who will work with a panel of experts from Chime and the wider communications industry to select and nurture new services that can be turned into businesses.

Those shortlisted wil be asked to pitch their business plans in person.

“In such a dynamic sector, organic growth isn’t just about growing existing business, it’s about adding new services relevant to our clients’ needs,” said Chime Group chairman Tim Bell.

With headquarters in London, the Chime Communications Group includes public relations group, Bell Pottinger, advertising and marketing services groups that include VCCP, a sports marketing specialty group, and a research and engagement group.
