Social Media Week, Paris: from Content Push to Engagement
21 February 2013 | 08:30 - 10:30 CET
Back in 2012 IABC France and the American University of Paris jointly organised a session for Paris Social Media Week. This year, the cooperation continues with another jointly hosted event. The event is free.
FROM CONTENT PUSH TO ENGAGING COMMUNITIES: COLLABORATION AT WORK
This year’s event features a panel of expert speakers from industry, academia and the IABC to offer a broad range of valuable insights.
Once dismissed as a fad, social media has now become the engine of a new collaborative culture. In this new culture, social networking platforms are viewed as strategic tools for improving productivity, innovation and profitability.
At the heart of enterprise social media are communities. These communities now enable people to engage in projects and activities on a scale that was unthinkable just a few years ago. In the process, static documents have transformed into discussions.
This transition demands a new approach from professional communicators and their organisations.
The event begins with a presentation by IABC Gold Quill Award winner Silvia Cambie, who will share approaches chosen by leading corporations for their external and internal social media.
This will be followed by a panel discussion led by Matthew Fraser, academic specialist and author on social networks from the American University of Paris.
On the panel are Daniel Kraft, President and CEO of Newsgator, Kate Bourdet, the Digital Communications Director of Orange Business Services, Kristine de Valck, Associate Professor and researcher at HEC, and Silvia Cambie.
