DESCRIPTION:Gift of Communication: Amplify Your Impact\nThe IABC’s Gift of Communication program empowers professional communicators to give back locally\, showing the true impact of effective communication on organisations and communities. It’s a unique chance to expand networks\, hone skills\, and gain valuable experience. \nAt IABC\, we believe in demonstrating—not just promoting—the value of great communication. Through Gift of Communication\, we’re fostering a ripple of generosity\, making a real-world difference. \nWe’re delighted to partner with Zalando\, Europe’s leading online multi-brand fashion destination\, to bring this event to Berlin\, in the heart of Europe for our in-person event on Thursday 30 January 2025 with registration and breakfast starting at 8:30 am. The event will run until 12 pm with optional extended networking after. \n \n  \nWhy Get Involved?\nGift of Communication pairs skilled professionals with non-profits and community groups\, offering guidance on messaging\, outreach\, and strategy where resources are limited. Whether it’s online or in-person\, you’ll work alongside passionate peers\, contributing expertise to strengthen community connections and tackle communication challenges. \nA Global Movement with Local Roots\nGift of Communication is part of IABC’s World Conference and thrives in local communities. From city centres to rural areas\, this program bridges gaps and forges meaningful partnerships\, uniting communicators with organisations striving to uplift their communities. \nHow It Works\nIt’s simple yet powerful: professionals volunteer to support non-profits in tackling communication and marketing obstacles\, with options for single or ongoing engagements. Tailored pairings ensure each organisation receives the specific support they need\, and early-career professionals work alongside seasoned experts\, gaining valuable experience. \nFor our Zalando-Berlin 2025 event\, we’ll be offering a 3-hour workshop session during a workday morning. At this stage\, we’re planning for a day in the last week of January 2025. \nExpect to put aside half a day to allow for: \n\nAn introduction with workshop guidelines 15 min\nSession 1 (full briefing\, issues\, channels\, resources\, timeline and scope) 45 min\nA networking break with catering provided at Zalando 20 min\nSession 2 follow-on (“strategic on a page” recommendations & next steps with an action plan) 1 hour\nCoffee 10 min\nSummary learning with all participants to round out the experience 30 min\nOptional networking\n\nCriteria for our Non-Profit Organisations\nWe welcome collaboration with organisations that fit the following criteria: \n\nA registered charity or non-profit organisation who would benefit from pro-bono communication support\nA senior leader who is seeking professional communication support and is able to attend the event in person\nNo military affiliations\n\nThe Impact Speaks Volumes\nGift of Communication fosters collaboration and sparks innovation.
