Working at the heart of the association, you will be responsible for devising and delivering communications messages. You will be a writer, storyteller and editor for the EVPA’s external and internal communication channels. You know how to deliver messages and ensure they are well received by different audiences; you can distil the essence and can inspire.


Given the strategic objectives of the association, you will work with all departments to ensure messages land in the right way and fit with the overall strategy. You will develop a communications plan, and proactively identify and maximise opportunities to strengthen the voice of the association. You will build strong relationships with media, both specialised and mainstream to ensure maximum visibility and you will be responsible for creating content for social media channels and the website.

The Communication Manager will combine strategic insights and marketing savviness with creativity and a hands-on approach. He / she will have to:

Earn trust and effectively communicate with a wide range of internal stakeholders across all functions and levels
Be able to inspire our members and our sector by drawing attention to relevant information including the findings from our Knowledge Centre and the learnings from our members
Analyse EVPA’s different communication channels and maximise their impact (making sure that we get the right messages to the right people through the right channels)
Coordinate all of EVPA’s communications efforts
Build, monitor and maintain highly effective media and social media processes and tools for various messages
Prepare internal and external messaging, manage approvals and manage distribution of that messaging to various audiences
Exercise extremely high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes

Previous experience (min. 10 years) in a similar role
Native level of English (excellent writing skills)
·         Prior experience of working for a membership or industry association or body

·         Experience in developing and implementing communications strategies

·         Capable of working in a team (and in a “support” role to the association) but also comfortable working independently and proactively to lead communications activities

·         Experience in website management, social media management and digital communication; advanced computer skills (CSS, HTLM5, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign) are a plus

·         Good time management skills are essential to balance multiple priorities

·         Knowledge of / interest in (venture) philanthropy, social (impact) investment and / or (social) entrepreneurship




·         Full-time position, based in Brussels

·         Position working across the organisation to support the communications needs of our main departments: Community & Market Development, Knowledge Centre, Policy, Operations with a direct reporting line to the Operations Director

·         You will be at the forefront of promoting the VP/SI sector in Europe and being in contact with relevant stakeholders

·         You will be part of a small, motivated and international entrepreneurial and fast-growing team and have a direct report, the Communications Analyst

·         Start date: as soon as possible

·         Compensation according to experience and skills brought to the position (rem: EVPA is a non-profit association)
