Meet the 2016-17 EMENA Region Board

Nikki Edwards
Chair
As 2016-17 Chair, Nikki oversees the activities of the EMENA Board to ensure accomplishment of the region’s mission, goals and objectives. She leads the planning and delivery of the annual IABC EMENA EuroComm conference, which will take place in London in Q1 2017. She is also liaison for development chapters, and is the region’s representative at the international level of the association, including a seat on the IABC Council of Regions. With more than 20 years of experience in employee communication and engagement, in both agency and global corporate environments on four continents, Nikki has worked with leading brands such as Visa, Bupa, Barclaycard, Rolls-Royce and more. She is an independent consultant currently working for, among others, London-based multinational financial organisations, on a range of strategy and communication projects. Nikki is also a managing partner at a boutique agency (hotchillibox.com) which provides end-to-end content, web development services and e-commerce solutions. Most recently, she founded a Provence-based business that offers bespoke executive event management services to corporate clients (gofigure.fr).

Alex Malouf
Vice Chair
Alex is a marketing communications executive who has spent the last ten years in the Middle East. With a cultural mix that is both European and Arabic, Alex’s expertise spans communications for both multinationals in the energy, technology and FMCG space as well as several Gulf-based government institutions. When he’s not putting pen to paper, Alex can be found advocating for the region’s communications industry through not-for-profit organisations, with other like-minded comms professionals. Alex has a particular interest in change and cultural communications, as well as sustainability. Alex holds the position of corporate communications manager for the Arabian Peninsula at Procter & Gamble.

Mike Klein
Treasurer
Mike Klein is the Principal of Changing The Terms, a communication practice focused on identifying, connecting and mobilising informal leaders at all levels of organisations. Based in Delft in the Netherlands, Mike has worked with large global organisations on internal communication issues for nearly 20 years – including VimpelCom, Cargill, Shell, easyJet, Barclays and the United States Department of Transportation – and is a also a former political campaign consultant. He is a graduate of London Business School and the University of Wisconsin, and is passionate about tribes, travel, Tottenham Hotspur FC and is the author of From Lincoln to Linked In, the 55 Minute Guide to Social Communication.

Jasna Suhadolc
Director - Key Programmes & Content
Jasna is owner at communications agency Virtua PR and an experienced digital communications professional. She works with Slovenian and international clients and provides consulting, training and speaking. She is a specialist in digital PR, social media, internal communications, corporate communications, content marketing, and more. Jasna is also an author of the book New opportunities in e-communication (in Slovenian) and a frequent speaker at conferences.

Alba Perez Grandi
Director - Communication
Alba is a passionate communications executive with six years of experience working across different industry sectors for corporations, European Institutions/ associations and agencies. Her core strengths lie in corporate communications, PR, digital marketing, public affairs and organising high-level events. Since 2013, she has been a VP of Communications of the IABC Belgium Board and has built strategic plans for events and communications outreach strategies for members. Alba, currently an Account Manager at the European Business Summit, works with European clients, mainly within the Energy sector such Statoil, Iberdrola, and SUEZ. She also focuses on ICT corporations/digital start-ups, carries out lobbying activities and organises high-level events that bring business leaders and decision makers together. As a digital addict, she volunteers for TEDxWoman Antwerpen social media team. Driven to impact society and create positive change by listening and connecting people together, she is looking to expand her training, speaking and coaching capacities.

Kasha Dougall
Director - Membership
Kasha started her career working for TBWA as a project manager for the Nissan account. She has always worked in a very international environment where understanding other cultures is paramount to ensure that communication projects and campaigns succeed. Having worked on both agency and client side, she was Corporate Communications Director of Faiveley Transport, an equipment supplier for the railway industry and is currently head of Business Communciation at Bureau Veritas. She holds a BA (Hons) in European Business from Oxford Brookes University and the ESC de la Rochelle and an MA in Internet Marketing & Communications from the Léonard de Vinci University, Paris. When she is not fussing about messaging, you can find her at the opera and the ballet or networking with like minded internationals. As an international communicator, Kasha joined IABC to confer with colleagues.

Tim Hart
Director - Sponsorship & Marketing
For more than 20 years, PR & marketing consultant Tim Hart has served some of the world's top food, wine, health, technology and charity brands as well as a wide variety of SME clients, including law firms, marketing agencies, artists, musicians, food artisans and tech startups. Originally from San Francisco, Tim worked for 15 years at global and boutique PR firms and charities. In 2005 he launched his own PR firm, Hart Communications, providing consulting, content and media services to clients in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia; in 2015, he launched Grá Group, a social enterprise providing marketing education and services to small businesses in the UK and Ireland. He is an Associate Lecturer in the PR programme at the London College of Communication.

Ger Peerboom
Director - Sponsorship & Marketing
A seasoned communications executive, Ger has worked in B2B environments within multinational companies (aerospace and petrochemicals) for 30 years, half of which was with a Middle Eastern company; he lived in Saudi Arabia for thee years. He works closely with C-suite and cross-functional teams to realise enterprise goals with the introduction of enhanced communication and global branding approaches. Ger is a regular speaker and panelist and a keen contributor on LinkedIn and Twitter. He was a mentor in the 2016/2017 EACD Mentoring program and is a member of several associations including EACD, IoD, PRCA, CIPR, IPR, IoIC and LOGEION.

Nahla Nana
Director - Leadership Development & Recognition
Nahla is Director - MarComms, Research and Innovation at Orient Planet Consulting, MENA. She has a broad marketing, communications, and consulting experience in various sectors across EMENA. She has an Executive Education from Harvard School of Design, and a Masters Degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Nahla provides insightful advice on innovative business solutions to governments, corporations, and non-government organisations for which she has garnered a wide range of accolades and recognition. As a member of the UNGC local network, she constantly engages with activities that create awareness about Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and has published numerous articles on business management, innovation, sustainability, security, environment and energy, and smart cities. Nahla is a board member of Global Fletcher Women Association, and an active volunteer. She is also a multilingual globetrotter.

Nada Haddad
Director at Large
A specialist in corporate communications, public relations and strategic communications, Nada previously worked as United Nations’ communications officer, and built as well as developing the regional communications function for Deloitte and Touche in the Middle East. Today, she is an independent consultant in brand and communication in the aviation, luxury retail, IT and development sectors.
