Welcome to our new members, our new board, and SUMMER!
Spring has been a time for renewal and provided us with the opportunity to grow in new directions over the coming year, building on the solid base of 40 IABC years in our EMENA region.
Thank you to everyone who provided us with feedback in our recent survey about your experience – initial results show the importance of networking and connection with a desire for more informal, local opportunities to connect. Meeting with the other regional Chairs at the IABC World Conference in Chicago confirmed my suspicions that this is a global trend to want to connect human to human at the local level.
So, our focus for the upcoming year is to build our regional connections and communities. We also want to concentrate on a great experience for both our members and our volunteer board. A part of this is about celebrating our diversity and being deliberately inclusive.

I’m pleased to announce that Michael Nord has accepted the non-board position of Community Lead for The Netherlands and Ana Margarida Ximenes for Portugal. They will be working closely with Nicholas Bruneau to activate communities in these countries. We hope to grow new communities once these are established.
