The summer is usually a time when the out-of-offices go on and activity slows down, but not at IABC EMENA!
We kicked off the new Board year by bringing the entire Board together for a day in London on July 4th to plan and strategise for the year ahead.
Looking back over the past few weeks, London has been the focus of our activity. A night of unforgettable storytelling at London Unfiltered #4 on June 30th was hotly followed by the UK & Ireland’s Summer Social featuring The Big Comms Quiz on July 16th. As always, it was a brilliant way to connect – congratulations to this year’s champions Comms Anonymous and thanks to the UK & Ireland team for pulling it together. I also had the pleasure of celebrating with IABC EMENA Professional Development Director Sharon O’Dea at the launch of her new book, Digital Communications at Work.
Communities are the key to our growth
Beyond the UK & Ireland we’re already growing our Communities across the region. In fact, we’re in conversation with new volunteers who are keen to start bringing comms professionals together in Dubai, Spain and Paris. We’re excited to unveil a fresh team of volunteers in Berlin (more details below), and hope to share details of new community leads in Brussels very soon.
Meanwhile our existing community leads in the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and the Nordics are hard at work planning their event schedules for the coming months. Be sure to connect with your local community leads to learn more about what they have planned.
