IABC EMENA

It’s with pride that I reflect on what we’ve achieved together as a region of talented communication professionals, and look forward our exciting journey ahead.

Just a few weeks ago, we shared our IABC Community model with global IABC leaders. EMENA is the first region to develop and implement this flexible model as a precursor to IABC Chapters and SIGs. Our initial goal was three communities. We now have five active ones, with more on the horizon. As Simon Cavendish prepares to step into the IABC EMENA Chair role this July, alongside a new board including me as Past Chair, we’re ready to scale further.

Membership is also growing. We’ve seen a 44% increase in members-at-large in the last year, thanks in part to our thriving communities. And notably, two of our members were named IABC Fellows this year – an incredible achievement, with only five selected globally. We’ll be celebrating this and more at the IABC World Conference in Vancouver from 8 to 11 June. See you there!

As I join the IABC International Executive Board this July, I’m honoured to continue representing our region’s voice on the global stage. Thank you to our dedicated board, Community Leads, and every volunteer who’s contributed, whether through Golden Quill, webinars, events, or simply reaching out to connect. Your efforts make our community what it is. As a member said to me today, “I love the IABC vibe.”
