Takeaways from the IABC World Conference, reflections on the 2025/26 board year, and priorities for the year ahead
By Leo McCauley, Director of Communications Portfolio
To mark the close of the 2025–2026 board year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the recent IABC World Conference in Toronto, celebrate the achievements of the past 12 months, and look ahead to the new board year beginning on 1 July.
In this 14‑minute IABC EMENA podcast special, I sit down with Simon Cavendish, outgoing Chair of the region, who shares what he brought back from Toronto. From the value of meeting communication professionals in person to themes such as polarisation and the role of emotion in business communication, we also revisit the many events delivered across the region and the continued growth of our communities.
We’re also joined by current Vice Chair Kathryn Kneller, who becomes Chair of IABC EMENA on 1 July.
Kathryn reflects on World Conference, describing it as an “enriching experience,” compares it with past events, and outlines her priorities for the coming board year, including growing our membership, supporting community development, and strengthening partnerships and sponsorships.
