Professional communicators are trusted to find, structure, and share the stories of their clients. Those stories are valuable because they help stakeholders better understand the values, beliefs, and intention of the client. In other words, stories provide insight into who people are. But what we share and how we share it determines whether these stories are useful to stakeholders. Sharing stories begins with finding them and then determining the right ones to tell. But how do we encourage our clients to reflect their experiences and guide us as we shape their stories? Look for the lessons first, and the stories will follow. What’s most significant is not what was experienced, but what was learned from it.

In this webinar, we’ll discuss strategies for mining lessons, finding the experiences that resulted in those lessons, and transforming those experiences into stories.
